What makes Villa Bois Flotté a great holiday rental

Villa Bois Flotté is located on the dunes, just 100m from the beach, has stunning views of the ocean and is very well equipped as well as offering an à la carte concierge service.

Best for

Several families or large group all looking for the independence of individual bathrooms and that hint of hotel luxury, with TVs, bluetooth speakers, airconditioning and coffee machines in every room.  The house has been well designed to cater to large groups.

Suitability for

Toddlers - the pool, whilst raised out of the ground, is not protected and being on the dunes, the garden is largely sand, when not decked.

Teenagers - teenagers will love this house!  They can walk to the beach, restaurants and cycle into Hossegor.  The indoor/outdoor music system will keep them happy, as will the spa and gym.

Reduced mobility - There are several bedrooms on the ground floor, but the driveway up the house is steep.

Anything to look out for

Some bathrooms are slightly dated whilst others are brand new but the location and view more than make up for this.  Being on the dunes there is a lot of sand!

Idyllic location for this wooden villa on top of the dunes overlooking Estagnots beach

This wood clad villa has been designed to provide for everything you could wish for in a holiday home.  Views from the outdoor dining area and pool, and several parts of the house, of the ocean and a covered terrace, closed on 3 sides, with outdoor heaters for those slightly cooler evenings at the beach.

This is a very large, sprawling house, but plans of the groundfloor and upstairs are available in the photo section of this site.

The main living/dining/kitchen area is large and bright with views directly onto the terrace, pool and beyond, the ocean.  On a clear day, the whole coast line, down to Spain and the foothills of the Pyrenees are clealy visible in the distance.

The kitchen is separated from the living area by a bar, with barstools, and is very well equipped, with 2 dishwashers, a beer pump, coffee machines, large american fridge (with extra fridge in a storeroom), ice machine, and even separate bins for sorting out the recycling!

The living/dining room has a large music system that allows music to be played everywhere in the house and outdoors, or to separate which rooms hear what - this house is ideal for those looking to party (whilst respecting the neighbours, of course!).  Through the double doors onto the deck with outdoor eating area and outdoor kitchen, with plancha and drinks fridge.

Off the main hallway, is a separate WC, a room for massages, a storeroom with extra fridge and the staircase leading to the first floor.

At the end of the hallway is access to the spa with indoor spa and gym equipement, complete with bathroom.  Off the spa room is a dormitory for 4 (can be set up as a bunk bed and 2 twins, or bunkbed and one double).

There are a further 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor, which are new additions to the house.  Each has its own ensuite shower room, with WC and is fully equipped with hotel extras (TV, speakers and coffee machine) and has views over the ocean with double doors direct to the dune.

First floor:

The master suite has a large picture window with amazing views over the sea.  It is a large room, with dressing area, desk and ensuite bathroom with large shower and separate WC.

There are 2 further double bedrooms each with ensuite and WC, both overlooking the front of the house.

All bedrooms are airconditioned for extra comfort.

There is an outdoor salon at the front of the house, which can be closed on 3 sides if needed, with outdoor heaters for slightly cooler evenings.

At the back of the house, with the view of the ocean, are the outdoor kitchen, dining area and pool, all perfectly positioned to enjoy the sunsets.

The Local Area

Seignosse océan
Comprising les Estagnots, Bourdaines and le Penon it's a mostly residential area with a number of holiday homes and apartments and lovely sandy coastline that draws visitors. Popular with surfers and families, the beaches are superb. There are seasonal shops, a bit of nightlife and a Water Park in Seignosse Le Penon.

Golf de Seignosse
A water and forest monster of a course ranked in Continental Europe's Top 50! Very welcoming clubhouse with a restaurant and bar (serving meals midday-5pm each day) with fabulous views of the course from the terrace. The course hotel serves excellent, more formal à la carte meals in the evening.

Hossegor & Capbreton
The local region of Sud Landes is typical Aquitaine - endless stretches of sandy beaches buffeted by the Atlantic ocean, vast pine forests punctuated by the occasional lake and criss-crossed by a network of cycle trails.
Capbreton and Hossegor are neighbouring seaside towns which between them offer an appealing contrast. Hossegor is the more famous, largely through its surfing heritage. It's a 'feelgood' place offering boutique shopping, great bars and restaurants, world-famous surfing beaches, casino, a lovely golf course and a beautiful lagoon for safe bathing and sailing.
Capbreton lives in the shadow of Hossegor but it's the place the locals prefer for eating out and for beaches. It's definitely the more authentic of the two, largely because of its fishing port and daily fish market. In fact, the town thrived in the 19th century as a whaling port and this sea-faring heritage is still very much apparent today.
It also has a charming town centre and market. Capbreton is just more French than Hossegor, if you see what we mean. It remains, admirably, something of a French (and Spanish) secret.
Capbreton sea-front is a bustling place, day and evening. You can walk all the way along the marina and sea-front. The jetty, known locally as l'estacade, offers excellent coastal views. There's normally a few locals here trying to catch a fish for supper. It makes for great viewing!
Like most of the south west coast, Capbreton-Hossegor is something of an outdoor playground. Take your pick from surfing, canoeing, sailing, diving, fishing, cycling, tennis, horse-riding and golf to name a few. Golfers will enjoy the local course, the 1930s-built Golf d'Hossegor. The traditional club house is also a delight. A short drive up the road is the infamous Golf de Seignosse. There are other great courses within 45 minutes drive including Moliets and several around Biarritz.
The whole Aquitaine coast is a perfect venue for surfers but at Capbreton the presence of an offshore hollow in the sea-bed gives the waves here that extra edge. If you don't fancy a go yourself, just sit on the sea-front with a drink of your choice and watch the surfers ride to shore.
Cyclists can enjoy the many safe forest tracks that connect between the towns along the coast. Sailing enthusiasts should head for the Capbreton Marina. Being so close to the Pays Basque border, sporting life also includes the legendary game of pelote; you can watch a game at the fronton in Hossegor.
