What makes Eden Club villas great holiday rentals
Also to note we have selected individual, superior-quality Eden Club villas which feature:
Families, couples & groups of friends looking for a good holiday villa with pool near the beach with lots to do. There are attractive prices & offers outside July & August which make Eden Club villas ideal for golfers, surfers & families with pre-school-age children.
Anything to watch out for?
Villa plots are fairly small so apart from the pool & terrace outside space is limited - but this is reflected in price which compares favourably with other villas with pools in Lacanau.
Lacanau-Ocean is an outdoor playground, offering a superb beach, lovely cycle trails, tennis, golf, surfing, water-skiing, sailing. In July & August there's plenty going on in the day time and evenings, though it's a little quieter outside these months. Beaches stretch for miles, so finding your own patch at whatever time of year is not difficult. Three golf courses are located within 3 kms. The famous chateaux of the 'medoc rouge' (the wine producing area), the bassin d'Arcachon and Cap Ferret are all within easy reach.
Attractive, modern villas with private pools and in-villa wifi, well-located for the beach, cycle paths & activities
Eden Club is an estate of about 20 villas with pools in the pine forest on the outskirts of Lacanau-Ocean. Currently we promote two individual villas there superior in quality to others at the same venue, with more to come soon.

Lacanau offers surfing, golf, sailing, cycling, horse-riding, tennis, as well as lovely ocean & lake beaches - perfect for an active holiday
Lacanau-Ocean is the pre-eminent sea-side town of the Medoc Bleu, an area noted for a wide variety of activities and attractions.
Ocean beaches: wide, sandy Atlantic beaches are long enough that you can always find a quiet spot to yourself even in high summer just a short way away form the centre of town.
Cycling and hiking trails: over 120 kms of safe cycle tracks lead through the forests up and down this stretch of coast, from Carcans-Maubuisson north of Lacanau, all the way, ultimately, to the Pointe de Cap Ferret to the south. Several local bike hire shops, it's a lovely way to get around.
The local lakes are a great opportunity for whiling away the hours in tranquility, listening to the water lapping the sandy shores. The surrounding forest are perfect for picnics and rambling. The lake beach at Moutchic is popular, but Longarisse is the one the locals go to!
* Restaurants - several in Lacanau Ocean
* Shops - local amenities in Lacanau Ocean (fishmonger, bakery, grocery store, etc), plus a few boutiques
* Supermarket - mini-market at Lacanau Ocean, plus larger supermarket in Lacanau-bourg 8 kms inland
* Markets - weekly market in Lacanau-Ocean (Saturday mornings)
Lacanau is also well-located for exploring further afield - many places of interest in this south-west corner of France are within an hour's drive:
Day trip ideas
* Tour and tasting around world-famous Medoc vineyards
* Boat trips along the Gironde and to the Phare de Courdouan
* Drive down to Cap Ferret, for oyster-tasting and to climb the lighthouse
* Spend a day strolling beautiful St Emilion (but get there early)
* Explore the narrow streets and squares of central Bordeaux and soak up the history
Our personal highlights
* Picnicking by the lac de Lacanau - find a shady spot and enjoy the tranquility
* Hit the beach late afternoon and stay for an evening gourmet picnic, like the French do, watching the sun go down
* Cycle rides along the forest trails - mainly flat, easy & very enjoyable
* Driving by some of the outlandish Medoc chateaux - impressive, and humbling
* For some real exhilaration try a surfing lesson, or just hire a body-board!
Service: They were extremely fast to respond to any queries and willing to offer advice on surrounding areas, secondary options and more.
Product: The villa was wonderful and we had a great time. It was large, homely and well equiped with almost everything we needed to feel at home. The pool was large, as were the bedrooms and everything was extremely clean. The negatives were few but still notable. We booked under the impression that we would have a heated pool, however the pool in #6 is not heated. (We had the pool cleaner check for us to confirm). The shower in the en suite bedroom was no connected and there were no fans in the house which meant it was uncmfortablely hot at night, particularly in the upstairs bedrooms. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay - but if you are staying in July/August, you will need to buy your own fans from one of the local Supermarchés.
Product Comment: Thank you very much for your feedback. We're really pleased you enjoyed staying at the villa. The pool does have heating!! It's heated to 27 degrees at which point the heating stops. The air temperature was very hot when you stayed so perhaps the water felt fresh. I'm therefore a bit confused by what the pool cleaner has said! Your point is noted regarding the need for fans upstairs during hot weather - thanks for highlighting this.
Service: service of the staff was good but the map directing us to the accommodation was possibly the worst I've seen. It was not made clear in the brochure that there was all-in-all 3 Eden club complex's & that the reception to pick the keys up from was in the 3rd one which was situated significantly over the hill & down the road even further.
There is no road names and no accommodation/plot numbers on each house that can be seen from the road so you have no idea which is which. If it wasn't for the help of the staff directing us via following their little van right to the door then we'd probably still be there now. Staff very nice & helpful.
Product: Accommodation was to a good standard. The pool cover / guard did not work properly & was broken & one electric shutter also was faulty but not that either affected our enjoyment of a lovely situated, clean villa.
Product Comment: Thanks for sharing your feedback. Glad you had a good time at the Lacanau villas. The combination of ocean, lake and pine trees is hard to beat!
Service: Friendly and efficient.
Product: The house and the pool were nice, however very expensive. There was some broken equipment incl fridge shelves and the dish washer front, which is disappointing for a premium priced holiday rental. The cleaning on arrival was adequate, not more. Also a rip off that bed linen, towels and final cleaning service not included in the price.
Service Comment: Thank you for taking the time to write - it sounds like you enjoyed your holiday Lacanau - it is beautiful! We're sorry to hear about the damaged equipment in your villa – we will raise these issues with our partners. The Reception at the Atlantic Green estate is available to report such issues during your stay. To explain, the linen policy is unfortunately one that comes from our partners in France, and one that we must respect in order that our prices stay in line with other suppliers. Were it up to us, we would include linen and towels as a standard in the rental price (indeed, this used to be the case) but we have to follow their rules. It's as frustrating for us as it is for our clients, but I hope you understand. Bethan
