Villas Bleues' forest setting close to the lake is typical Aquitaine, ideal for watersports, cycle trails & to explore the area, with the beach nearby too
What makes Villas Bleues a great holiday rental
Villas Bleues offer well-equipped, modern accommodation at prices which compare favourably to other villa resorts. It's a walk to the golf course, an easy bike to the lake and just a short drive to the ocean beach; Arcachon & Cap Ferret are close by too. A great base for exploring, or just spending time by the pool.
Villas Bleues are ideal for anyone appreciating the natural environment on your doorstep, perfect for an active, outdoor holiday. Golfers, surfers or watersports enthusiasts - sailing and kite-surfing are popular here - will love everything being so close. (Golfer packages are available at Biscarrosse, which include half-board meals at the smart club-house restaurant and discounted green fees; there is also a package including golf lessons - please enquire for details.)
Anything to watch out for?
Gardens often have a pine-needle surface, not grass, and can be overlooked. Forest setting means pools & terraces are shadier than in other resorts, a blessing when it's 30 degrees outside! The beach is 6 kms away by cycle trail - the route is quite a strenuous up-and-down ride and won't suit everyone.
Biscarrosse is an area of great variety: endless sandy beaches, great surf, forest tracks, lakes and a warm sunny climate. In summer there's a daily market plus night market in Biscarrosse-Plage. There is golf on your doorstep, forest cycling & hiking trails, sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing and kayaking. Arcachon & Cap Ferret are a short drive away.
Contemporary, well-equipped villas for a relaxing, enjoyable holiday.
The villas are modern in style and combine traditional Landais architectural features such as oak beams and low roof, with a more modern, American summer-house appearance. They are spacious, light, well-equipped and provide a generous amount of outdoor space.
The site is extensive, and comprises approx. 150 villas altogether, however only a handful are rented for holidays.

Service: Booking service excellent - check in too late and check out too early, accommodation structurally excellent but standard of furnishings less than expected - tired and needed updating
Product: See comment above
Service Comment: Thanks for writing. It would be nice to have an earlier check-in and later check-out. It's because they have a lot of villas to turn around on a Saturday. Glad that you liked the villa and Biscarrosse! Justin
Service: Very well organised. An improvement for the future would be a map of villas on the website available showing their location and distance to the lakes. We were 2.5km from the lake and it was very hilly so not possible to walk with kids and this was a total surprise as we thought it would be a walkable 700m. Aldo website should mention the site of villas is on steep hills. Map included in ticket and info pack was much appreciated and a nice touch.
Product: Nice, clean villa. Well equipped and perfect space for us. Alarm on pool didn't seem to work properly and went off twice in night for no apparent reason. (Although neighbouring pools seemed to go off randomly at times too) Really could have done with option to pay for wifi or have it in agency reception rather than golf club reception (where it was patchy and involved the staff spending 10 minute to get it working). Again as mentioned before the hills and distance from the main road and lake meant we had to drive each time to the lake.
Service Comment: Many thanks for your review, v pleased you liked the villa and really enjoyed the area. Regarding your location, we requested the quiet location you wanted but unfortunately it meant you were further from the lake - if you ever decide to go back we'll get you closer next time. We totally agree in-villa wifi would be a big improvement, we'll keep pestering the local supplier about it! Thanks again for the feedback. Alex
Service: No complaints, helpful and responsive.
Product: As described
Service: We werent quite clear from the documents where we should check in. A map of the exact area, which was given to us upon arrival, would have been helpful. We had to ask at Pierre et Vacances, although they didn't have a clue. Thanks for arranging the villas next to each other. That was a big us for our enjoyment of the holiday!!
Product: Compact wirh enough space for us all. Great pool, quiet location. Close to golf, waterski, boat hire. All mod cons.
Service: All good.
Product: Did a clean ourselves as they wanted €110 to provide a cleaner. This is normally included in the rental anywhere else.
Service Comment: Very friendly staff & the villa was as good as shown on the website.
Service: Professional & friendly service, certainly know the accommodation and area they are promoting.
Product: Light , clean and spacious, nice area.
Service: Good communication. Would use again
Product: Excellent base, high standard accommodation .
Service: Good information
Product: Ok but poor value for money, quality of villa compared with price to Spain, Portugal or Greece very poor. Having extras like cleaning are a really bad idea
Service Comment: thank you for the feedback. We promote Portugal & Cyprus too and to be honest I agree - those destinations have a lower cost of living than France and the Villas Bleues are not as smart as some at the same price. We continually remind French villa owners that they have to be on their toes. The Villas Bleues have been refurbished for 2014 so we think that will help in future. Alex Spalding
Service: The people at Alternative Aquitaine were very professional, and I have since recommended the company to a number of friends. They come back to you very quickly with queries etc and I felt I was in safe hands when discussing a part of France I did not know well.
Product: The villa was comfortable but very hot in 40 degrees heat and next time I would look for a property with air con. The location was pleasant but it was slightly off the beaten track and a little quiet for teenagers. You also needed a car to do trips to the supermarket etc. We had a few problems with our swimming pool whilst we were there but the staff in the office were very good in getting someone over to repair it.
