What makes Grange des Vignes a great holiday rental
The cottage is one of three holiday properties (they do not overlook one another) set in large grounds with plenty of games, some bikes, plus shared pool. Beautiful gently undulating countryside allows plenty of opportunities for exploring on foot or by bike. The owners are especially welcoming & knowledgeable - whether your passion is wine, history or things to see or do they'll point you in the right direction.
The pool is heated from about mid-April to end September (once the nighttime temperature reaches 18 degrees) - perfect for families with young children and for holidays outside the peak summer season.

Why the Bordeaux region?
Wine, naturally! Plenty of opportunity for dégustation (tasting) and finding out all about wine, both on the estate and at any number of the chateaux and vineyards of the region.
The region is also steeped in history and culture, we recommend strolling around one of the many historic villages, or a visit to the fascinating city of Bordeaux itself.
There is also a wide choice of activities available nearby including golf, water sports, horse riding, cycling and walking. Fantastic ocean beaches are just over an hour away by car.
The decor and furnishings of Grange des Vignes are of a good, modern standard throughout. Tiled floors, exposed stone walls, exposed beams upstairs and bright blue shutters outside all give the cottage charm and character.
Inside
Downstairs:
Open-plan living space with sitting area at one end with seating for 6 and TV, and kitchen and dining area at the other (including dining table seating 6). Tiled floors and exposed stone walls. Kitchen equipement includes microwave, four-ring hob, oven refrigerator, coffee-maker, washing machine, dishwasher and kettle.
Leading off the kitchen area and short corridor serves two downstairs bedrooms - a double and a single, each with an en-suite shower room, basin and toilet.
Upstairs:
There are two further bedrooms upstairs, a second double and a second single room, each with its own shower room, basin and WC.
All bedrooms have blackout blinds.
Outside
The properties are separated from the road by a gate; there is parking for 1 car outside the cottage.
At the rear of the cottage is a pergola with table and chairs for 4, barbecue, and a small private, lawned garden, open at the far end and looking out to the vines and forest at the rear of the estate. Hedges and shrubs on either side mean the garden is not overlooked by the neighbouring properties.
Guests at Grange des Vignes also have use of the estate's large grounds, heated swimming pool, bikes and games (volley-ball, table-tennis, badminton, swing-ball). The pool measures 12m x 6m with a maximum depth of 2.5m. It is surrounded by a fence with a security gate. The pool is heated from May onwards (subject to the air temperature reaching around 20 degrees) and is shared with the other guests.
Please note that Grange des Vignes can be rented for only four guests; all of the rooms would be on the ground floor and the single ground floor bedroom can be turned into a twin or double (2m x 2m).

You are asked please to observe the owner's own occupancy rules:
1. Cleaning service is not included in our prices and you are expected to leave your cottage clean and neat. If you don’t want to clean, a charge of 120 Euros for the “Maison & Grange des Vignes” , and of 70 Euros for Cottage des Vignes will be deduced from your bond.
2. Prices quoted include the following : Electricity, water, (except for the heating see mention* above), cot (available on request), cleaning products, bed linen, and use of the swimming pool
3. Prices quoted exclude the following : use of telephone, fax .
4. Accommodation is available on a weekly basis only; from Saturday to Saturday.
5. Guests are asked to arrive after 5.30 P.M. on the Saturday and leave before 10.00 A.M. on the departing Saturday (to allow time for preparing for the next guests).
6. No extra guests are allowed to sleep over night or to use the facilities on the premises.
7. Smoking in the gites is not permitted.
8. You use the private pool at your own risk. Children should be supervised at all times.
Only the tribunal of Bordeaux will be competent in the case of litigation.

The cottage is located in the grounds of the wine-maker's small estate, just off a country road and 1km from the centre of the small town of St Caprais (with tabac, boulangerie, mini-market and a couple of bars).
