A rental property with a story to tell…
Until relatively recently, Cap Ferret was practically an island. The separation from the mainland helped preserve Cap Ferret’s unique character long after other, easier to reach, parts of the coast had been inhabited.
Villa les Goelands was built on Cap Ferret in the inter-war period by the current owners’ great-grandfather when a boat was the best way to reach this spot. There is still direct beach access from the house.
The authenticity of the plot tells its own tale – the water of the Bay laps at the end of the garden and one of the great joys of being here is sitting on the spacious decked terrace watching the wildlife, sailing boats or just the ebb and flow of the tide.
The New York Times featured the joys of this area in a recent article; their journalist's enthusiasm for this unique spot matches our own!
