The house enjoys an elevated position above the lake affording spectacular views - in fact, one of the best sunset views from any rental in our collection!
Hours will be spent on the west-facing sun terrace where you will enjoy aperitifs and sunset bbqs!
The sandy lake beach - swimming, sailing, SUP - is a mere 25 metres! And the location is perfect for a gentle walk or easy cycle ride to the town centre, the ocean beaches and lakeside restaurants.
The Lakehouse is ideal for anyone who wants to 'ditch' the car for the holidays.
A local host - Nikki - is next door and available as a concierge service to help you make the most of your stay and can book for you restaurants, surf school, bike hire, etc.
The house can accommodate 6 people in 3 double beds but we think the space works best for a family of 4 or 5. Equally it can work for two couples although there will be a battle over who 'bags' the master bedroom!
Long winter stays are very welcome should you fancy a business/leisure break in southern France. The property is heated and has wifi.

ANYTHING TO WATCH OUT FOR:
There is road noise - the house is located just above the road that tracks the eastern shore of the lake. But given its location near a mini-roundabout, traffic is slow. The views really do compensate for the road noise - we've been there and checked it out.
The property host - Nikki - lives in the adjoining property (she & her husband - no kids - are on the north side, the rental property is on the south side - the two-storey part in photo 3 in the gallery). She will be there to welcome you and then she is available as much or as little as you need her - your holiday privacy is totally assured. She is both a wonderful host and a font of knowledge having lived in Hossegor on & off for 25 years - Nikki provides the concierge service of a hotel but you have the privacy and independence of your own holiday home. You'll be pleased to note that Nikki does the cleaning and she's 'OCD' about hygiene!
A 4th bedroom can be opened on request but the capacity of the house is strictly 6.
No WC on first floor.
Because it's a fabulous south of France resort with amazing surf beaches, a stunning tidal lagoon, fresh & fragrant pine forests, beautiful cycle trails and more. It's a slice of California in Europe. Hossegor is about good-living...eating well and enjoying the great outdoors. It's our most popular destination but we love the fact it's still relatively unknown - spread the word but not too much!
Inside - First Floor:
The upper level is devoted to the master bedroom with stunning picture window providing spectacular views of the lake from bed! This is a large, bright room with a built-in dressing cupboard and small balcony.
Across the hall is a further shower room (no WC).
(There is a 4th bedroom with balcony which can be opened to guests on request, subject to the house capacity of 6).
Accessed from the sitting room French windows is a lovely terrace with outdoor seating area and dining table with a small garden area with sunloungers. Built-in plancha for those sunset bbqs!
The outside space is private and separated from the adjoining property (where Nikki and her husband are).
Off-street parking for 1 car (street parking is possible for additional cars).

Nikki provides a little 'beach package' for all guests - beach towels, beach umbrella & beach bag

The Lakehouse is situated on the corner of Route des Lacs and Avenue du Touring Club on the eastern shore of Hossegor lake. The house enjoys an elevated position looking out across the stunning lake - the views are incredible throughout the day but the sunsets are extra special as the terrace directly faces west. It's a flat walk of less than 20 minutes into the heart of Hossegor - or 5 minutes on the bike path. This is a very convenient location for shops, cafes and restaurants - you really don't need a car.
Inevitably there is some road noise to consider but we strongly feel that the location and views more than make up for this. Traffic has to slow down for the mini-roundabout so it's not a case of cars speeding past. We've been there, we've checked it out and we're happy with it. We know this location very well.
