What makes La Cabanes dans les Arbres a great holiday rental?

For a special occasion or just to make your holiday even more relaxing, why not book one of our bespoke catering packages as part of your stay at this villa.
Perfect for couples or for families with teenagers.
Anything to watch out for?
The house is built on a steep slope with no garden. There are several steps inside and outside.
An established surfing 'mecca' with a very 'cool' vibe. Hossegor offers great beaches, good shopping, a lovely lagoon and plenty of activities (surf, golf, tennis, cycling, sailing & more). Nowadays it's more in demand than Biarritz.
Attractive and unique eco-chalet offering high quality accommodation
Architect-designed and recently built, the house is constructed entirely of wood and is very energy efficient with solar panels and hydronic wood stove.
Many of the interior finishings are custom-made to the owner's own specification.
The house is accessed either from above or below, via an external wooden staircases set into the hillside.
The front door opens directly into the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The beautiful oak floors run throught the house and the custom shelves, curved bookcase and steps have all been handmade by a local craftsman.
The kitchen is very well equipped with a marble topped central island, and all the usual electrical appliances (oven, toaster, cafetiere, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer) and a gas hob. The dining table has seating for 8 people and 2 high chairs available and there is a small balcony off the dining area.
There are large windows providing lots of beautifully dappled light filtered by the trees.
The living area is down three steps and again is bathed in light from floor to ceiling windows. A beautiful handbuilt curved bookcase dominates one end and is filled with the owners favourite novels and reference books. There is a small terrace off the living room with a reading table and chair.
In the entrance hall is a beautiful sprial wooden staircase that leads up to the roof terrace, an ideal spot for a quiet read in the sun or dinner in the tree tops.
The bedrooms all lead off down the single corridor.
The first bedroom is a large double (can be separated into 2 singles) with lots of storage.
A shower room and WC separates bedrooms 1 and 2, which is a twin bedroom with bunkbeds, a cot and an extra pull-out trussel bed. This room is decorated as a children's room and has plenty of toys and storage.
The master suite is a king size double with storage and an ensuite bathroom with huge picture window overlooking the trees, washbasin, bathtub, huge walk-in shower and WC. There is a small balcony off the bathroom too.
Whilst there is no garden, the house enjoys a fabulous roof terrace, a perfect spot for enjoying a quiet read, coffee or apero.
Beneath the house and down a large wooden staircase is a very handy outdoor shower for after the beach plus a utility room with washer and dryer.
Weber gas BBQ.
There is ample private parking.

The local region of Sud Landes is typical Aquitaine - endless stretches of sandy beaches buffeted by the Atlantic ocean, vast pine forests punctuated by the occasional lake and criss-crossed by a network of cycle trails.
Hossegor is fast-becoming one of the west coast's premier resorts. It's loing been famous thanks to its surfing heritage. It's a 'feelgood' place offering boutique shopping, great bars and restaurants, world-famous surfing beaches, casino, a lovely golf course and a beautiful lagoon for safe bathing and sailing.
Capbreton lives in the shadow of Hossegor but it's the place the locals prefer for eating out and for beaches. The fishing port and daily fish market are lively spots to discover. In fact, the town thrived in the 19th century as a whaling port and this sea-faring heritage is still very much apparent today.
Like most of the south west coast, Hossegor is something of an outdoor playground. Take your pick from surfing, canoeing, sailing, diving, fishing, cycling, tennis, horse-riding and golf to name a few. Golfers will enjoy the local course, the 1930s-built Golf d’Hossegor. The traditional club house is also a delight. A short drive up the road is the infamous Golf de Seignosse. There are other great courses within 45 minutes drive including Moliets and several around Biarritz.
The whole Aquitaine coast is a perfect venue for surfers but here, the presence of an offshore hollow in the sea-bed gives the waves here that extra edge. If you don't fancy a go yourself, just sit on the sea-front with a drink of your choice and watch the surfers ride to shore.
Cyclists can enjoy the many safe forest tracks that connect between the towns along the coast. Sailing enthusiasts should head for the Capbreton Marina. Being so close to the Pays Basque border, sporting life also includes the legendary game of pelote; you can watch a game at the fronton in Hossegor.View More Hossegor Rentals
