What Makes La Violet A Great Holiday Rental:
Two couples or a family with one or two children/teenagers.
Anything To Watch Out For:
In a town centre location a bit of noise is to be expected but actually the apartment is relatively tucked away in a secluded side street.
Note: whilst the two bedrooms both have double beds, a 'z bed' style single bed can be provided to make a twin for children/teens.
Because it's a fabulous beach resort with amazing surf, a stunning tidal lagoon, fresh & fragrant pine forests, beautiful cycle trails and more. It's a slice of California in Europe. Hossegor is about good-living...eating well and enjoying the great outdoors. It's become our most popular destination.
Contemporary, colourful and spacious apartment with private balcony and aircon, in the heart of Hossegor
'La Violet' has a strikingly modern interior and offers a fabulous space for a family of two couples.
The apartment is on the 1st floor of a small residence of just 6 apartments. There is a lift in the building.
The apartment is fully air-conditioned.
The accommodation is all on one level. On entering the apartment, you have a corridor right and left. Turning right takes you to a very light and modern open-plan living area with its vibrant colours and 'art-y' furnishings:
'American' kitchen (the French are obsessed with this phrase!) with a very good spec of branded appliances including a Nespresso machine. Modern dining table with ample seating.
The purple velvet corner sofa was not stolen from Prince's house! But it fits in very well with the apartment's contemporary theme. Relax with the sliding doors open and let the breeze come in.
Leading directly from the living room is the private, south-facing 11m2 balcony which has space for a table and chairs. A plancha-style electric BBQ is provided.
You will see in the photo gallery that the balcony is very close the terracotta tiled roof of a neighbouring building. Whilst there are better views in Hossegor, when we visited the apartment we felt it actually gives guests privacy and sound-proofing.
The remaining accommodation is as follows:
Bedroom 1 - Double room with Queen-size 160cm bed and private bathroom (bath tub, shower over bath, basin).
Bedroom 2 - Double room with Queen-size 160cm bed and private shower room.
Note: A small single can be provided to make a double room into a twin room - ideal for a family of 4.
There is a dedicated parking space in the residence car park - another huge bonus. Also, bicycle storage space is available.
2 x doubles both with Queen size 160cm beds. A small single can be added if needed (max. capacity 4)
Both bedrooms ensuite: 1 x bathroom, 1 x shower room. Independent WC
No pets & no smoking
The apartment could not be more conveniently situated. The town centres superb shopping, cafes and restaurants are practically on your doorstep. It's just a few short steps to the Lac Marin d'Hossegor, less than 5 minutes to the shady Rosny park and it's sandy beach, Plage du Parc. There's a play area here too and it's a favourite with young families. A bit of town noise is inevitable but actually the apartment is tucked away on a side street and is incredibly private. You have the best of both worlds!

Hossegor has long since been a surfer's paradise. After the American surfing pioneers discovered Biarritz in the 1950's it wasn't long before they reached further up the coast to explore Hossegor. By the 1970's Hossegor was very much on the international circuit but suring was still very much a minority sport back then.
As the industry flourished, Hossegor became a hub for surf brands and various spin-offs and there's still a thriving community of surfers who work in the industry and live here too.
In fact, Hossegor was well-known before the surfers arrived. In the 1920's and 30's, well-heeled Parisiens and folk from the south west's cities began building some magnificent villas around the lake shore. Apparently it was quite a party scene back then.
These days, Hossegor is Europe's California. Yes, there's the crashing surf and wild beaches but it's much more than that. It's a haven for anyone with a passion for active, outdoor living be it on water or on land.
The variety of activities to try - or watch - are quite remarkable...
