What makes Villa d'Elixaga a great holiday rental

We've been looking out for a rental such as Villa d'Elixaga for years. The many charming Basque villages near Biarritz make lovely placs to stay, are in easy reach of the coast but away from the hustle & bustle. So we're delighted to have found Villa d'Elixaga. Its smart interior, and lovely pool area, garden & surrounding views make Villa d'Elixaga a very relaxing place to spend the day, yet it's just a quick trip to Biarritz, Bayonne, or the beaches of the Landes Coast. A great place to relax and get away from it all, or enjoy the glamour & surf too!

Best for:

Families & groups of couples wanting peaceful, quality accommodation with good access to the Aquitaine coast. The bedroom layout makes it feasible for 2 couple with 3-4 kids between them. Out of season the location offers excellent access to many local golf courses.

Suitability for:

Toddlers: the sloping garden and flight of stone steps to the pool make it less suitable for toddlers.
Teenagers: swimming pool & table tennis will keep teens amused; lots do to within a short drive
Reduced mobility: steps, slopes & upstairs bedroooms make it unsuitable

Anything to watch out for?

The garden is on a slope so ball games aren't easy but otherwise this is a very good holiday villa.

Why Biarritz & the Basque country?

Biarritz is the most famous resort in Aquitaine and offers excellent shopping (including the famous Halles, the covered food market), restaurants & bars, golf, surfing and lots more. The picturesque villages of the Basque country are a delight to explore.

Local knowledge ...

The house in on the edge of Briscous les Salines, a small village approx. 20 kms from Biarritz. The nearest local shops are in the pretty village of Briscous 'proper' 2 kms away. Biarritz, Bayonne, Hossegor, Capbreton are all within a 20-30 minute drive by dual carriageway.

This south western corner of France is known for its beaches, fine climate and the strength of its Basque culture. Biarritz is well served by trains and planes.
