Family Holiday Sites in south west France |
We've taken the best of our Seaside Apartments,
Holiday Villages and Holiday Chalet & Lodge
venues to create
this portfolio of holiday residences for families.
Alternative Aquitaine has a lot of experience in
organising family holidays. Families are our core
market and the business is run by people with small
families. We've chosen venues where we would like
to spend a holiday with our kids.

Family
Holiday Sites - What are They?
If
you want a holiday with good shared facilities
including a swimming pool, to experience
Aquitaine's natural environment, and at the
same time have easy access to the sea-side, our
Family Holiday Sites are the ideal choice.
These are friendly, charming locations for a family
holiday. 'Holiday Camps' they are not! As well as
a pool, some venues have a restaurant, kids
clubs and sports facilities.
Accommodation is straightforward and compact rather than luxurious.
But they are clean and comfortable and an affordable
and sociable option for families.
Here's our Five Reasons for Choosing a Family Holiday
Site.
| 1
|
Comfortable,
affordable accommodation |
| 2 |
Convenient
on-site facilities, especially for families - swimming
pool, children's play area,
restaurant/bar at most |
| 3 |
Natural
surroundings be it countryside, forest,
ocean & dunes, mountains
or lakes |
| 4 |
Nearby
activities: surfing, watersports,
tennis, cycling,
horse-riding and more |
| 5 |
Near
places of interest too - vineyards,
markets, pretty villages
& historic cities |
If you are looking for something on the coast and similarly
convenient for families, but with more luxurious touches including
a private swimming pool, then our Mer
& Golf Villas are a better choice.

Family
Holiday Sites - Where are They?
Well,
obviously, they are all in south west France. Take a look
at the
map
of locations
to see the resort.
Also, for convenience, they could be grouped into four types
of location - see the coloured box below. You'll see that
we've selected venues, due to popular demand, that are mostly
on the coast. All of the other venues are within 1 hour of
the coast.

Family
Holiday Sites - Who are They For? Guess
what? These venues work best of all for families,
whether its older kids who are active outdoor types,
or younger kids who love the pool and playing
with other kids they meet on holiday.
We should highlight that Alternative Aquitaine is owned and
managed by people with young kids. As such,
we think we know what families are looking for to make a succesful
holiday.
If you have teenagers who want to be in a
beach resort where they can enjoy some independence (and some
surfing), then we have good options for them too.
Outside the main summer season, we have found that surfers
enjoy the sites on the beaches of Aquitaine in September &
October; golfers choose the sites adjacent
to a golf course, particularly in May/June & September/October;
couples choose the resort residences at quieter
times of the year when the climate is very appealing, notably
June and September

Holiday Sites - How do I Choose? A
good place to start is to look at a map
of the locations.
If you're still undecided, each of the Family Holiday Sites
has particular characteristics or features, one of which may
be just what you are looking for.
Take a look at our How to Choose Guide
- we've selected the best choice venue(s) based on a dozen
key search criteria. We hope this helps you choose.
Don't forget, all have a swimming pool on-site.
