Alternative Aquitaine is not a tour operator and does not arrange clients' travel (flights, ferries, hire car, etc). As such, ABTA and ATOL bonds/licenses are not available to our business.

Nevertheless, we fully understand how clients want to be sure their money is safe in the event of their travel provider failing.

Alternative Aquitaine is a family-owned business which has been trading profitably for 10 years. We do not forward-buy any 'stock' - we settle our owners' invoices after the client has paid us for their holiday; this way our business is always cashflow positive.

However, we recognise the importance of financial protection and if you wish to insure yourself against our financial failure, there are two options:

several travel insurance policies such as AA travel insurance include cover against the financial failure of the travel provider. Their standard policy for a family of 4 staying in August for 2 weeks is £38.66.

by paying for your holiday on a Visa or Mastercard you are automatically protected by your card issuer, but please note there is a 2.75% card fee due to the high bank charges we face on both credit and debit cards.
