France has had a reputation for having become a touch more expensive in recent years. We recognise that times are hard for many families and you want to be sure you're getting the most from your holiday budget.
Well, if you are thinking of France for a holiday this summer, there are reasons to be cheerful!
1) Great prices and offers at Chateau de Salles
A popular holiday park between Bordeaux and the coast which we’ll be plugging more than ever this year as we’ve chosen it as our ‘top tip’ destination for difficult times. What makes Chateau de Salles the smartest choice this year?
- special offers all year round including 10% off fortnights in July and August
- the park is Dutch-owned and priced to reflect Dutch school holidays. Dutch kids are back in school by mid-August and this makes the second half of August superb value – a fortnight in a 2 or 3 bedroom lodge is £600 cheaper in the second half of August vs. the first half!
- new for 2012 are half a dozen superb new villas with private pools
- excellent facilities including tennis courts, swimming pool, play area, wi-fi zone, watersports, kayaking, cycling and more
2) For our UK clients the Pound is at a 15 month high vs. the Euro (as of 13.1.12)
- After months of bad news in the Eurozone, the Pound has finally broken the 1.2 barrier! Not only will this make your holiday money stretch further, it will put money in your pocket now if you book your accommodation through us. Because our price are set in Euros, when the Pound strengthens, the equivalent Sterling price falls. A villa that rents for €2000/wk will currently cost £1680 compared to £1800 6 months ago (based on exchange rate €1.19 to £1 on 13.1.12 vs. €1.10 in July 2011, source: BBC).
3) France is still the cheapest short-haul destination to get to
- With air passenger duty rising, families will always get better value by taking their own car to France via the ferry or chunnel, compared to the cost of flights plus hire car. Visit our France Travel Directory for a ferry or chunnel quote.
4) Choose a holiday home that is rated 'best value for money' by previous guests
- Every returning client who completes their holiday questionnaire gives their holiday rental a 'value for money' rating. Take a look at our Best Value for Money Holiday Rentals in Aquitaine - as rated by clients
- We've also compiled for you a collection of what we call ' Value Villas with Pools' - these are holiday rentals that have a private pool at affordable prices - to be eligible for this 'value badge' the villa must be available for less than 2000 GBP per week in the peak season.
